Barkat Foundation was founded in 2015 by Aliha Nasrullah and her mother, Sabrina Ayesha. The mother-daughter duo work with a group of volunteers to host free medical camps for the underserved in Pakistan, among other social welfare projects.

Aliha Nasrullah  | Cofounder & President

After completing her A’Levels from Lahore Grammar School (55 Main), Aliha did her BSc. in Biology from Adelphi University in New York. Currently, she is pursuing her academic career in medicine, while acting as Barkat Foundation’s current President. She has been working in the nonprofit world since 2010 and has been involved in numerous outreaches focusing on education, social development, and public health improvement conducted by various renowned organizations such as SOS Children’s Village, Fatima Memorial Hospital, Rizq, and Crescent Charity Foundation Inc.

In the past 8 years, Aliha has worked on several self-initiated community service projects such as the Tharparkar Food Drive in 2014 that helped 320 drought-stricken families in Tharparkar Desert. In March 2017, Aliha gave her TEDx talk on the importance of children’s involvement in the nonprofit world and has been invited to numerous events as a keynote speaker thereafter.

 

 

 

Sabrina Ayesha  | Cofounder & Secretary General

Sabrina has done her MSc. in Child Development and Psychology from College of Home Economics, Lahore. Upon graduation, she started directly working with children within the education sector from 1991 - 2012 and has taught at numerous well known institutions in Pakistan such as Beaconhouse School System,  Learning Alliance, and Wise College. Currently, Sabrina acts as Barkat Foundation’s Secretary-General and does in-person management of all projects for Barkat Foundation, while doing the toughest job in the world – being an amazing mother to 4 children.

 

 

 

Parnia Nasrullah | Good Will Ambassador

Another integral part of the team is Aliha’s 14-year-old sister, Parnia, who currently serves as Barkat Foundation’s Goodwill Ambassador. Parnia is a hardworking 8th grader who is often found complaining about her D-Maths curriculum. She has been working alongside Aliha in their joint community service projects ever since she 7 years old. Parnia has been zealously volunteering with our team since Barkat Foundation’s advent in 2016 and currently heads Barkat Foundation’s yearly Eid Celebration Drives.
